Work-in-Progress Presentation
Join us for the Work-in-Progress Presentation of
Voices in Motion, next Friday (16 June 2023), 6.30 pm at Alliance Française Kotte in Colombo.
Voices in Motion is a four-day residential dance retreat, which is currently taking place at Sri Yoga Shala in Thalpe. During this week, the 10 participating dancers and choreographers with different backgrounds (Traditional, Contemporary, Urban, Street, Hip Hop) will be guided by Paul Upali Gouëllo, Raphael Moussa Hillebrand and Farah Deen.
The presentation will be an amalgamation of performance sketches that the individual choreographers have been able to refine with input from the three mentors over the course of the retreat, as well as collective movement routines that emerged from the communal exchange and mutual inspiration.
The project is co-funded by the Franco-German Cultural Fund. The Fund was set up in 2003 to mark the 40th anniversary of the Élysée Treaty of friendship between France and West Germany and it promotes Franco-German cooperation by providing support for cultural and artistic projects.
