The Colombo International Theatre Festival has initiated the first international theatre festival in the history of Sri Lankan theatre arena, as a bridge connecting Sri Lanka to the global theatre. The CITF persevered amidst countless complications, struggles and distresses from 2012 to 2019. Unfortunately, due to the Corona pandemic in 2020/21 and the economic and political crisis which arose in the country in 2022 the CITF had to reluctantly put the theatre festival aside for a while.
The Colombo International Theater Festival has started the year 2023 with the determination that the festival will somehow be held this year. The Colombo International Theater Festival looks forward to your support and attendance, to make that expectation a reality.
