Tod den Hippies!! Es lebe der Punk

West Germany in 1980. 19-year-old Robert is sick and tired of the boring lifestyle in the provinces and the smug hippies at his boarding school. Without giving it a second thought, he moves to West Berlin, which he believes to be a haven for rebellious spirits: with its trendy bars, flourishing subcultures and a “scene” characterised by art, sex, drugs and punk rock. At first, however, the reality is somewhat sobering…
A dramedy with an autobiographical touch about the harsh world of sex, drugs and paranoia in West Berlin in the 80s.

“PUNK BERLIN 1982“ is the title of this utterly insane FRG slapstick, grotesque film. Oskar Roehler, who is one of the last genuine auteur filmmakers in this country (…). (Süddeutsche Zeitung)
