Floyd bids his two friends farewell in a Hamburg suburb. He is to start work on a ship the next day. Together, the three friends tour the sleeping city. A film about seemingly aimlessly trying things out, putting out feelers, escaping from stagnation and about new perspectives. The social criticism of earlier decades has largely been replaced by a playful narrative style.
