On November 9th, 1989, the GDR opened the Berlin Wall. The pictures went around the world. Director Marcel Ophüls interviewed people who participated in these events, including politicians from the GDR. His critical documentary compares the situation in the spring of 1990 with the situation in post-war Germany.
