Educational Fun

The Goethe-Institut Namibia and partners have again united for Science Week and in 2018 will welcome about 500 learners from more than 16 schools to a series of activities and films surrounding the discipline. Science Week 2018 will be held at the Ministry of Mines and Energy.  Partners Unesco, Namibia University of Science and Technology, World Food Programme, National Commission on Research, Science and Technology; Namibian Scientific Society (NSS) and National Earth Science Museum will facilitate numerous activities and conduct many experiments to demonstrate topics relevant to the Namibian education system and general knowledge.

The Goethe-Institut international network’s Science Film Festival will also provide Science Week 2018 with short but informative films on various topics regarding science and the every-day life of human beings. Held in more than 20 countries every year, the festival attracts more than one million spectators, making it the largest of its kind in the world. In cooperation with local partners, the festival promotes science education through film screenings and many other events. The appeal of the Science Film Festival is proof that science is not just dry theory!
