Our Language Cafés are a welcoming and informal meeting space for people who want to practise German in a relaxed, social atmosphere. They are designed for learners with basic German knowledge (A1 level or higher) who already know simple words and sentences and would like to gain more confidence using the language in real-life situations. Instead of traditional classroom teaching, our focus is on practicing German through guided conversations, games, and fun, interactive activities.

Sessions are conducted mostly in German, but the environment is supportive and encouraging. There are no grammar exercises, tests, or pressure to perform, learning happens naturally by speaking, listening, and engaging with others. This makes the Language Café an ideal place to expand vocabulary, improve fluency, and become more comfortable communicating in German.

Participation is free of charge, but registration is required so that group sizes can be planned in advance. You can join for a single session or attend regularly, depending on your schedule. Each session lasts around 60 minutes, all materials are provided, and participants can enjoy free coffee, tea, and cookies. Beyond language practice, the Language Café also offers the chance to meet new people, connect with others, and learn more about German culture in a friendly, motivating community setting.

Our Language Cafés take place every second Tuesday of the month at the Goethe-Institut in Windhoek.
