A reading and discussion of his work with Dzekashu MacViban under the Literary Crossroads initiative that brings together writers and authors from across the African continent to deliberate on current topics, trends and issues. Also featuring will be Namibian author of the local Felsgraffiti magazine, Jan Risser, who will engage with MacViban on African literature and writing for the Internet. Moderated by another Namibian author, Sylvia Schlettwein, the conversation will examine the complex relationship in African countries like Namibia and Cameroon that have a rich context of local languages and present writers with choices such as which language to write in and whether going online is better than print.

The first installment of Literary Crossroads at the Goethe-Institut Namibia for 2018 will host author Dzekashu MacViban from Cameroon, who is known as the founder of the Bakwa Magazine and various international literary awards. The author of a collection of poetry, Scions of the Malcontent (2012), received special mention for the 2016 Short Story Day Africa Prize and produced stories that are translated into Japanese, Spanish, French and German.
