Iheanyi Onwuegbucha, artist, curator and art historian is presently curator of the Centre for Contemporary Art, Lagos (CCA, Lagos). He is a 2016 Chevening Scholar and holds a Master of Arts degree in Art Gallery and Museum Studies from the University of Leeds and a Master of Arts degree in Art History from the University of Nigeria.
Iheanyi Onwuegbucha worked as Student Curator at The Hepworth Wakefield, United Kingdom (2017), Curator of Thought Pyramid Art Centre, Abuja (2016) and Festival Secretary and later Curator of the Life In My City Art Festival, Enugu (2013 – 2015).
He has completed developmental research projects for the German Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development and the EUNIC Abuja. He has equally provided curatorial advisory services to the J.K. Randle Centre for Yoruba History and Culture, Lagos and the Yemisi Shyllon Museum of Art, Pan Atlantic University, Lagos.
He is currently researching on post-war art in Nigeria with focus on the post-civil war period. His other research interests include collective war memories in museums, female modernists in Nigeria and inclusive museums for Africa.
