Keep Learning German – online. To protect your health, we are currently facilitating all German courses in an online format.

Any Special or Exam Preparation Courses as well as exam dates will be postponed to a later time. Your exam registration is still valid and the exam can be taken free of charge until the end of this year.

Monday, Tuesday & Thursday 10:00 a.m. - 11.00 a.m.
12:00 p.m. - 1:00 p.m.
Exam Pick-Up: Wednesday & Friday 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
During registration 09:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
If you want to attend our classes, kindly register in person in our Language office during registration period.

Registration Requirements:
1. Payment: Cash, and in person
2. Valid ID (Government issued or Student/staff ID)
3. One passport photograph with white background

In case you have had any previous knowledge of German, we can assess your level of German knowledge, by doing a placement test, create learning goals and help you choose the appropriate course.
The cost of the placement test is 5.000,00 Naira in cash. The test can be taken on the day of registration at the times indicated.
Placement Tests take place on the first day of course registration at 12 p.m.

Registration takes place between 09:00 - 15:00.

1. Enrolment requirements

1.1 Minimum age for standard course: 16 years

1.2 A placement test is required for all learners who have not previously attended a course at Goethe-Institut Nigeria.

1.2.1 Participants, whose knowledge of German needs to be assessed, will be charged a fee of =N=5,000 for the placement test.

1.3 A passport photograph and a valid nationally recognised means of identification are compulsory in order to complete registration. Applications without the required documents will not be processed.

1.4 Registration takes place on a first come, first served basis. 

2. Terms of payment / fees 

2.1 All payments must be made in full and in cash.

2.2 Course fees

2.2.1 Standard course fee with the course books cost =N=65,000, =N=75,000 and =N=90,000 respectively

2.3 The full course fee is to be paid at the point of registration 

2.3.1 The standard course fee excludes the Goethe-Institut’s international examination fee. 

3. Cancellation of courses and refunds

3.1 Cancellations must be submitted in writing. The date of cancellation shall be the date of receipt at the Goethe-Institut Nigeria.

3.2 A cancellation fee of 25% of the full course fee is applicable should you cancel before the course starts.

3.3 No refunds after commencement of classes. 

4. Class size

4. 1 The group size of a standard course varies from 8-22 course participants.

4.2 Goethe-Institut reserves the right to adjust the course format, regroup classes or cancel the course if need be. 

5. Course format and duration of courses

5.1 Standard courses: Four or five times per week, 170, 190 or 250TU as applies. (1 teaching unit = 45 Minutes).

5.2 We currently offer only the standard course format. 

6. General

6.1 Participants who have attended less than 70% of all classes will not be issued a participation certificate. A participation certificate is issued only after the course has ended.

6.2 Goethe-Institut Nigeria is currently only located in Lagos at 30, Catholic Mission Street, opp. Holy Cross Cathedral, Lagos Island, Lagos. 

7. Responsibility of participants

Participants are obliged to comply with the course rules and the house rules applicable to the Goethe-Institut.
8. Liability of the Goethe-Institut

The liability of the Goethe-Institut and its staff is limited to intentional and gross negligence. The Goethe-Institut accepts no liability for the cancellation of its services due to force majeure (e.g. Natural disasters, fire, floods, war, official orders and all the other circumstances beyond the control of the contractual parties).
