Goethe-Institut Lagos

The Goethe-Institut Nigeria invites you to a concert with German and Nigerian classic guitarists.

The well-known German, Romanian-born guitarist Mircea Gogoncea will play together with the Nigerian guitarist Taiwo Adegoke a fascinating selection  of music for classic guitar from the 19th and 20th century. This concert is part of his voluntary project to support Nigerian classic guitar players.
Several months ago, Mircea Gogoncea together with the support of the Robert Schumann University Duesseldorf and the renowned Spanish luthier family Ramirez managed to bring the probably first classic guitar to Nigeria, which was presented to the highly-talented guitarist and teacher Taiwo Adegoke.  A second classic guitar will be presented during his stay in Lagos to the young guitarist Olushola Festus hamilton, who will perform on this evening for the first time in public.

The concert is free of charge, but it is asked for a donation at the end of the event in order to purchase more guitars.
