Join us on Sunday 30th July 2023, 5pm at the Jazzhole Lagos as we present the Lagos chapter of Ten Cities with Mallam Mudi Yahaya, who was the writer and curator of the project from Lagos. We would be discussing the story of pop music in Lagos from 1960 to the present.
In 2010 Goethe-Institut in Nairobi together with other Goethe-Institut branches and their partners collaborated on a project called Ten Cities.
Ten Cities created a network of music and knowledge production between Berlin , Bristol, Cairo, Johannesburg, Kyiv, Lagos Lisbon, Luanda, Nairobi, and Naples.
The project was a co-production project for club music, bringing together fifty club music producers, DJs, and musicians from the ten cities in Africa and Europe. The music project resulted in an album (Soundway Records 2014).
