Celebrating our diversity in culture and varied mother languages, the language office is organizing an event tagged “Tag der Muttersprache”, highlighting speak dating of Nigerian, European and Asian languages and a fashion parade of cultures.
In addition to these, other forms of entertainments are featured. Games like Ayò, Oro Aje, Scrabble (German & Yoruba version), Lekki-Ikoyi Link Bridge Puzzle, and an open mic session with karaoke will be made available for attendees.
It is an auspicious event as this coincides with the end of the 8-week intensive onsite German classes, which will enable course participants to fully participate, have a get-together, and hopefully meet other language enthusiasts in attendance.
While Tag der Muttersprache has been carefully planned for this year, we hope it is the beginning of similar events to showcase the value of our mother languages and rich culture
