Digital conference Art and Soul

The non-acceptance of depression as a serious disease and the manifold taboos surrounding the subject of suicide in many societies worldwide often restrict open discussion on these issues.

However, many new treatment options have been developed over the past two decades. In particular, the significance of the use of art therapy in the treatment of mental health issues has been implemented often with positive results in many countries amongst patients with varied cultural and social backgrounds.

The aim of this conference is to bring together doctors, art therapists and experts in this field to introduce and discuss different approaches and to possibly establish a network for future exchange and cooperation.

Experts from both countries will present overviews on current developments of treatments of mental health issues and situational reports on art therapy in Nigeria and Germany. Best practice examples will also be introduced.

Registration is open for professionals and university students working in the field of art therapy, psychiatry, psychotherapy, psychosomatic medicine, medical social work and youth welfare.

The deadline for registration is May 3, 2021.
