Expression of Interest: Kunstautomat Project

Kunstautomat - Art Vending Machine © Goethe-Institut

Calling all visual artists in Aotearoa...

Would you like the opportunity to share your work with art-loving Kiwis?

Or how about the opportunity to share your art throughout Europe?

Now is your chance.

The amazing Kunstautomaten concept has come to Aotearoa New Zealand.

Kunstautomat (Art in a Box) is the invention of Lars Kaiser (Agentur Kunsttick, Germany) who has been installing his art vending machines throughout Germany for the past several years.

The Kunstautomat concept repurposes old vending machines to deliver art on demand for the small price of $6.00 a pop.

For that, you get your own unique piece of handmade art that comes in a convenient box. It could be a watercolour, a photograph, a piece of sculpture or a drawing - part of the charm of the Kunstautomat is not knowing what treasure you will find.

A partnership between Kunstautomat, the Goethe-Institut New Zealand and Art consultant Zara Potts for Toi Ōtautahi means three of these amazing art vending machines are now in New Zealand and local artists have the opportunity to have their own work included in the machines both in Aotearoa and Germany.

Requirements:

Participating artists will need to be a graduate of an art programme. Others interested in participating are invited to submit an application with a résumé and link to a home page showing their works and exhibitions.
