Germany 1930: In search of his first sound film project, the great filmmaker Fritz Lang turns to the story of a serial killer. The resultant film, M – A CITY SEARCHES FOR A MURDERER, goes on to become a classic of film history. FRITZ LANG tells the story of how the film came to be. In FRITZ LANG, director Gordian Maugg deftly mixes original documentary material from the Weimar Republic with new, luminously shot B&W footage to create a brilliant drama about murder, guilt and, of course, film history.
