Performance and sound artist Steffi Weismann participates in this year's Performance Arcade at the Waterfront Wellington.

She will present her solo performance LapStrap
on Thursday, 22.02., from 7:30 to 8pm,
on Friday, 23.02., from 2 to 2:30pm and from 6:30 to 7pm,
on Saturday, 24.02., from 1:30 to 2pm and from 6:30 to 7pm,
and on Sunday, 25.02., from 1:30 to 2pm and from 6:30 to 7pm.

Steffi Weismann LapStrap Detail square © Steffi Weismann Steffi Weismann is a performance and sound artist based in Berlin since 1988. She works on audiovisual and spatial concepts in time-based arts and explores the interactions between language, sound and new communication media. Apart from works in the context of performance and visual art, she has been performing experimental vocal music and fluxus with the group Maulwerker over many years. As a video artist she completed a number of audiovisual projects in collaboration with Berlin based composers and musicians connected to Echtzeitmusik and contemporary new music.

Weismann is the co-founder of several independent art spaces and event series in Berlin, such as Kunsthaus KuLe and Labor Sonor. She received residencies and grants in Johannesburg, Los Angeles, Basel and Vienna a.o. Since 2010 she has been performing variations of her solo LapStrap using a soundbelt with portable audio devices and creating instant compositions for voices and fieldrecordings at indoor and outdoor spaces. With LapStrap she will take part in the Performance Arcade 2018 each day from the 22nd to the 25th of February at the Waterfront Wellington.
