The annual German Film Festival, KinoFest, kicks-off with a special screening of the Academy Award winner, "The Zone of Interest", on September 26, 6pm, at the Shangri-La Plaza, Red Carpet Cinemas, Cinema 3. The screening is free and open to the public on a first-come, first-served basis.
Loosely based onthe 2014 novel by Martin Amis, the film focuses on the life of Auschwitz commandant Rudolf Hössand his wife Hedwig, who live with their family in a home in the "Zone of Interest" next to the concentration camp. Christian Friedelstars as Rudolf Höss alongside Sandra Hüller as Hedwig Höss.
The screenings of other films will follow from September 27 to 29 at the Shangri-La Plaza, Red Carpet Cinemas, Cinema 3, for FREE on a first-come, first-served basis. A total of 7 new German films will be screened along with 5 films from the KinoFest Special: Cinematic Connections with the Philippines.
