Once a month, our new birthday calendar will honour a selected birthday child (filmmakers, screenwriters, actors, camera operators, editors) with an appropriate film recommendation. For one month, one of their films will be available via Goethe-on-Demand.

On 5 September, Werner Herzog will celebrate his 80th birthday. His work has had a decisive influence on New German Cinema and makes him an important representative of international auteur filmmaking.
