Temporary Closure

The Goethe-Institut Manila will be temporarily closed to the public as we are taking the necessary precautions to protect our clients and staff.

This is in reponse to the decision of the Government and may be adjusted depending on how the situation develops in the coming weeks.

We are then informing everyone that all language courses will continue to be suspended until August 31, 2020. We hope to resume office and courses by September 01, 2020.

Language Course Office

Please be informed that the language course office can only accept inquiries online via mail and will not be able to answer phone calls until further notice. 

We are also temporarily closing off course enrollment. At this time, we do not have any online courses available for registration. If you are interested in enrolling for a course with us or would be interested in an online course, you may be included in our wait list. Kindly send us your full name, phone number and e-mail address to sprache-manila@goethe.de. Once a course opens up again, we will inform you accordingly.

Language Courses

All language courses will continue to be suspended until August 31. All participants will be receiving an e-mail from the Language Course Office regarding the course date adjustment. 

Examinations

All exams are cancelled until further notice. Because of that, we are currently not accepting any exam registrations. All participants who have registered and paid for an exam will be contacted via e-mail for further instructions.

Due to the current situation, claiming of certificates at the Institute is not allowed until further notice. We will be sending all certificates via LBC courier free of charge. If you have concerns regarding printed certificates, please send an email to sprache-manila@goethe.de

LIBRARY SERVICES

The Goethe-Institut library services is temporarily suspended until further notice. All borrowed materials will be extended without fine.

CULTURAL EVENTS

All cultural events by the Goethe-Institut Manila are cancelled until further notice. For further inquiries, please send an email to  program-manila@goethe.de.

FAQs (Frequently Asked Questions)

Q: I have registered for an exam in April/June/July, when will I be able to take my exam?
A: All exams will be postponed until further notice. E-mails have been sent out to all participants and we advise every participant to check their e-mail. If you have not received the official announcement, please send an e-mail to sprache-manila@goethe.de
 

Q: I would like to claim my exam results. How/When can I claim my certificate?
A: Due to the current situation, please be advised that we will not allow any certificates to be picked-up at the Institute. We will be sending all certificates via LBC courier free of charge. Details regarding this have been sent to exam participants via email. If you did not receive an email or have other concerns, please send an email to sprache-manila@goethe.de

 
Q: I registered for an exam in Cebu City this coming March 27. Will it push through?
A: Exams for Cebu City have been cancelled. An e-mail has been sent out to all participants regarding refund and rebooking. If you have not received the official announcement, please send an e-mail to sprache-manila@goethe.de.


Q: I would like to register for a language course. Can I still register even if the Institute is closed?
A: No. As of the moment, we are temporarily closing off course enrollment. At this time, we do not have any online courses available for registration. If you are interested in enrolling for a course with us or would be interested in an online course, you may be included in our wait list. Q: What happens to the course I registered for beginning March 16?
A: The Institute will be closed until August 31, 2020. E-mails have been sent to all the participants of our March courses. You may also refer to Goethe-Institut Philippinen’s social media channels for more information. 


Q: I took an exam last March, when can I view my results? Will there be a delay?
A: Results are now available online. Click here to see your Examination Result.
Q: Until when will the library be closed?
A: The Goethe-Institut Manila Library will be closed until further notice.


Q: What if I want to extend and return media?
A: The Goethe-Institut Manila library will be closed until further notice. All media due dates have been extended automatically. No fines shall be incurred during this period.


Q: I still want to read German books. Is there any way I can do it online?
A: The Goethe-Institut has a digital library called the Onleihe that's free of charge. More than 35,000 German language eBooks, audio books, movies, materials for German language learners, magazines and newspapers are available for downloading from the Onleihe.
Q: How about the events planned during those dates? Will they be cancelled?
A: All the ongoing and/or upcoming events are being postponed until further notice.
