The online series
Resonate presents collaborations between Musicians of the
Gewandhausorchester and artists in the
Leipzig International Art Programme.
In this second installment in the online concert series, Resonate, musicians from the Gewandhausorchester Leipzig combine with Filipino multimedia artist, Jett Ilagan aka escuri, to create 6 video clips of Kurtág’s 6 Moments musicaux Op. 44. Filmed in the historic Moritzbastei underground club in Leipzig, sound and visuals by Jett Ilagan reinterpret Kurtág’s music specially for a digital audience.
The online series Resonate presents collaborations between Musicians of the Gewandhausorchester and artists in the Leipzig International Art Programme (LIA). During each Resonate collaboration, the guest LIA artist creates a visual response to the live music performance. The founder of Resonate, Tahlia Petrosian, describes this innovative format as “exploring both the interaction between music and art and the potential to re-interpret concert formats for a digital audience”.
The 6 video clips in this collaboration will be released online on
March 7, 2022 across Resonate social media platforms and will also available to view free on
www.resonate.live.
Resonate Opus II is presented as part of the 70th Anniverary of the Goethe-Institut Germany.
