Structural Racism is not just something that effects the realities of Black people.
It is a danger to the lives of People of Colour (PoC) generally.

By Gloria Ssanyu Mukasa

Two years ago structural racism took the lives of

Ferhat Unvar
Mercedes Kierpacz
Sedat Gürbüz
Hamza Kurtović
Gökhan Gültekin
Said Nesar Hashemi
Fatih Saraçoğlu
Kaloyan Velkov
and Vili Viorel Păun

These were the people killed by the racist terrorist attack that happened 19th of February 2020 in the German city of Hanau.
Since then there has been a new rise of people in Germany organizing, protesting and fighting for justice. Central is the message that Hanau was not an individual case but a result of racial structures that discriminate against people who do not fall under the social category 'white'.

Initatives like Initiative 19. Februar Hanau or Erinnern. Verändern. demand complete clarification, consequences and rememberance through change.
