Family Matters - Namibia

Grandmother Veronica has been the foundation of her family since she was young. As a successful businesswoman and devout Christian, she is in charge of a household that does not allow itself to be demotivated by the external world. Her grand-daughter speaks for the family.

Originally from Walvis Bay, the Blaauw family is one of equal powers to all. Yes, they are Christian and passionate to the point of running the Church’s band but they do not enforce the dogmas of faith to an intense degree. Everyone in the family speaks for the family.

Johann and Daniel are the proud parents of Lucas who they adopted when Daniel’s aunt passed away. They were actually surprised at how easy it was for them to move from South Africa to Namibia as a same-sex couple.

Gaston and Petronella live with their daughters, Gayla-Ann and Nazaria. They have a Christian background and teach their daughters the same. They have a connection with their extended families, but are as independent as possible.

Karlien and Ndahafa live with their daughter, Tuufilwa, in Namibia’s capital, Windhoek. Karlien was a foster mother for Tuufilwa when she met Ndahafa. The two women from two different cultures are raising a young lady to be ready for the world.
