welcome to our August newsletter!

The institute is closed from 31.07 to 13.08 due to our summer break. In these two weeks, we will not be replying to any emails or taking the phone, but we will be back to answer any questions or concerns you might have on Monday, August 14th. Thank you for understanding!

Nevertheless, we have some news and information for you in this newsletter. July was filled with fun events and finally, there is news about the outcome of our calls for applications, as promised!

Language Department

Registration for language courses

After our summer break, the third trimester of our language courses begins. From August 21th to 25th, the registration for the courses will be open.

Cultural Program Officer

The Goethe-Institut Kigali is currently looking for a dedicated colleague to start as soon as possible to support our culture department, in the position of cultural program manager.
The application deadline is August 15th, 2023.

Call for applications - our grantees

After publishing our calls for applications - both for projects and exhibitions - we received a large number of very interesting and innovative applications.
Together with an external jury, we decided on 7 projects and 4 exhibitions, that we will implement together with the artists. Congratulations to all grantees, we are looking forward to working with you in the coming months!

Power in Constraints - Short Film Screening

In cooperation with power in constraints, various short films were produced as part of a workshop. Some of these films were shown at our institute and there was a lively Q&A session with workshop participants and film producers.

1Key Concert with Light Installation

The artist 1Key put on an impressive performance for us, accompanied by a dreamlike light installation that transported the audience into a dream world.

Danceperformance NDABAGA

On July 27th, the dance performance NDABAGA took place - the final event before our summer break. The dance group combined music, expressive dance, theatre and storytelling to take the audience on a journey to experience cultural traditions of Rwanda.
