Based on the true story of the teacher and football pioneer Konrad Koch, "The Great Dream" tells the story of the beginnings of the football game in Germany and of a school class growing together to a real team when the new teacher infects them with his football fever. The journey through time leads to an era in which schools still had "discipline and order" and football in the media was called "English disease".
