The Artefact as Art project has been led by Kurema Kureba Kwiga – Rwanda’s preeminent public arts organization – through extensive partnership with the Kandt House Museum of Colonial History, under the Institute of National Museums of Rwanda (INMR), the Gitega Sector, and the Goethe Institut Kigali.

This project examines objects that represent Rwanda today and presents the stories that objects can tell about contemporary society. The work explores aspects of culture, creativity, and self-expression through photography, color, and narrative.

This event will feature both an indoor exhibition and an outdoor, so join us Friday early evening to fully see the outdoor works before the sun sets and linger into the night over drinks and dialogue while enjoying the indoors exhibition.

We look forward to welcoming you to explore the notion of Artefact as Art with us!
