Bounty
2016; Documentary; 1h 20min
Director: Shyaka Kagame
Black and Swiss: In the last decade, a new generation combining those two identities emerged. Through the daily life of five very different characters, a hybrid culture reveals itself. Bacary, a railway safety manager, and Jeffrey, a bank employee, perceive themselves as Swiss while Rili vindicates his African roots “which will always make him different”. Winta, a saleswoman, thinks that she is culturally mixed while her daughter Ayan pays no attention to her skin colour. As the first generation of Black-Swiss, they are considered Blacks in Switzerland and Whites in Africa. Like a “Bounty”.
The Screening of the movie “Bounty” will be accompanied by the presentation of the artistic work of Andrea Grieder, a poet and social anthropologist from Switzerland.
