Technology is a fundamental force in the development and evolution of art. It provides artists with new tools for expression. One of the most uniquely impactful approaches is through art and technology collaboration. Art provides a powerful lens for engaging with technology because of its high degree of freedom in making large conceptual leaps across domains, delivering surprising outcomes.
The primary goal of this workshop is to expand the participant’s horizons of creativity and open new artistic frontiers leveraging on Augmented Reality.
We will base the workshop as a case study for the State of the ARt project that has started at the Goethe-Institut in Nairobi and will be unpacked in the following segments:
- Demystification session of AR & Immersive Technologies.
- Industry applications of AR – With a focus on digital distribution & content platforms.
- Experimentation of creative art-based AR tools & platforms.
- Production workflow – AR & VR applications with a focus on software and hardware.
