24 Weeks is a film by the German writer and director Anne Zohra Berrached whose films deal with the subject of motherhood.

The film tells the complex dilemma of a woman who learns during her pregnancy that her unborn child will be born with Down syndrome and a severe heart defect.

At first, the woman and her husband are confident that they can handle the situation, but then the mother-to-be has second thoughts. The social pressure, paired with her husband's rejection of abortions, makes it even more difficult for the woman to stay true to herself.

The film shows how social pressures often disregard women's choices and force them into a certain role.

24 Weeks sends a strong message for women's right to control their bodies and defend their rights.
