In line with the Singapore authorities' directives, the Goethe-Institut Singapore is preparing to gradually reopen. We are now able to offer German examinations and individual courses on site at the Institut. For the time being, all language courses will be continued online. The Institut and the library will remain closed to the general public. Our team is pleased to answer any questions by telephone from 10 am-4 pm or via email.

The Goethe-Institut and its teaching staff remain accessible and will continue the general language training in our digital classrooms. Our language courses in Blended Learning format are as fun and enriching as our students are used to.

Follow our website and social media as we will continue our programme with online activities on culture and life in Germany and Singapore. Visit our digital library „Onleihe“ to access books, films and other media digitally.

Our team is pleased to stay in touch through email or telephone to answer any questions. We wish all our students, partners and their families to stay safe and healthy.

All general face-to-face classes at the Goethe-Institut Singapore will continue online in blended learning format.

Digital Library - Onleihe

Our library remains closed until further notice. An automatic renewal of all borrowed material has been made and no fines will be imposed in the period of closing

More than 35,000 German-language e-books, audio books, films, materials for German students, magazines and newspapers are available for download in our eLibrary, Onleihe. Register and activate the service to use it on a computer or on mobile devices.

Frequently asked questions

All current courses are continued online in blended learning format. 

Online learning consists of a variety of phases and methods:
  • You work on exercises, tasks and texts individually from home, instructed and coordinated by your teacher
  • You work on written assignments, which will then get corrected by your teacher
  • The online course room enables you and the rest of the class to meet virtually with your teacher during online live sessions in which you communicate with each other either via a forum or live chat/video chat application.
