Reading with Rike Scheffler Live to Dream, or Dream to Live

Chinese philosopher Zhuangzi wonders: “Now I do not know whether I was then a man dreaming I was a butterfly / Or whether I am now a butterfly dreaming I am a man.” Which is more real? The numbing churn of everyday routines, or the dreams which fuel our aspirations? In this reading, Rike Scheffler and five other poets will read poems, their own and/or other people’s, which reflect their desires if untethered to their current conditions.
