Ausgezeichnet! The 2018 Asia-Pacific German Teacher Award
This year, for the very first time, the Goethe-Instituts of Southeast Asia-Australia-New Zealand will be awarding a regional prize for teachers of German.
Do you love teaching German and enjoy sharing your enthusiasm with others? Is your teaching innovative, learner-centered, communication and action-oriented? Do you motivate your learners to use German outside the classroom by giving them specific tasks and activities?
If so, then send us your innovative lesson plan and video and apply now to compete for the Asia-Pacific German Teacher Award 2018.
The German Teacher Award is an acknowledgment of the work of primary and secondary school teachers of German. It is a commendation for special commitment and excellent work both inside and outside the classroom. Participants will be judged on their lesson plan and a short video documenting its execution in the classroom. Other jury criteria include teacher involvement in extracurricular activities such as language competitions, school partnerships, student exchanges, and commitment to the Association of German Teachers and teacher training.
The winners of the national preliminaries will meet in Bali in October for the final regional round. The two overall winners will win a trip to Germany along with a methodology seminar and a varied programme of leisure activities.
The winners of the national preliminaries win a flight to Bali to take part in the final round of the Asia-Pacific German Teacher Award 2018 and attend the conference SPRACHEN ÖFFNEN TÜREN. PERSPEKTIVEN MIT DEUTSCH from 24.- 27. October 2018

- participation at regional teacher training from 20.-27.10.2018

The two winners of the final regional round win:
a flight and 2-week trip to Germany including methodology seminar and leisure programme in the summer of 2019.
Conditions of participation:
Minimum of two years experience teaching German as a Foreign Language at a primary or secondary school. German proficiency corresponding to B2 level or above.
