Resonate Opus 1 is the first event of a novel concert series by the Goethe-Institut Thailand, the Gewandhaus Orchestra in Leipzig and the Leipzig International Art Program (LIA) where the concert of the Orchestra is complemented by visual contributions from international artists in real time. The result is a deep, almost intimate glimpse into creative processes that is broadcasted as an audiovisual live stream from Leipzig.

For the first edition of this series, the Thai artist Harit Srikhao developed a multimedia performance that is presented in the vaults of the historic Moritzbastei in Leipzig as a visual response to a musical performance by the Gewandhaus Orchestra. In addition to his work as a choreographer and the collaboration with the Swedish performance dancer Clara Sjölin, Srikhao completed his scenes with elements from stage design, lighting and costume design. The work was created during Srikhao's several months' residency as a resident artist in Leipzig‘s Baumwollspinnerei.

The experiment paves the way to rethink traditional art forms across borders, time zones, virtual and analog spaces. The broadcast from Leipzig will be available to all interested parties as a live stream, and the Goethe Institute Thailand invites you to experience this new format together. The live stream will be shown in a club lounge atmosphere in the presence of Harit Srikhao in the Goethe-Saal, after which there will be the opportunity to chat with the artist in person.

Due to the current hygiene regulations, admission can only take place with prior registration. If you are interested, please register as soon as possible.
