CommDe Chula, with generous support from the Goethe Institute Thailand, presents Traumnovelle by Jakob Hinrichs: A Graphic Novel Exhibition.

Traumnovelle or Dream story is a graphic novel by Jakob Hinrichs, adapted from a 1926 novella by the Austrian writer Arthur Schnitzler. The book has been described as a tale of one man’s journey through the hidden depths of his own psyche. Connect the imagination with dreams and give it new meaning to discover people's true colors.

Jakob Hinrichs retold the story through his talented skills and color techniques inspired by traditional printmaking processes. He exposes the hypocrisies of bourgeois culture by exploring the repressed desires, fantasies, and passions underneath the surface of a seemingly happy marriage.

Jakob Hinrichs is a Berlin-based German designer and illustrator. He has been working in the illustration field since 2007. His clients include the world’s leading publishers and media outlets such as The New York Times, The New York Times Book Review, The Guardian, The Washington Post, Bloomberg’s BusinessWeek.
