The Thai Film Archive in cooperation with the Goethe-Institut Thailand and the Japan Foundation proudly present this year’s 4th Silent Film Festival in Bangkok from the 8th till 14th June 2017 at the Scala Theater and Lido Multiplex.

During the film festival, two German silent films will be screened in celebration of the 100th anniversary of UFA. “Destiny” (1921), a German film by Fritz Lang will be the opening film on the 8th of June. Furthermore, “Faust” (1926) by F. W. Murnau can be seen at this festival. Faust could be the most famous story by Johann Wolfgang Goethe, one of the most important poets in German history. All films will be accompanied by classic music, played by known musicians.
 
On top of that the exhibition “Light and Shadows” will be displayed by the Goethe-Institut. The exhibition tells the interesting story of one century UFA film history. The exhibition can be seen in the halls of the Scala Theater during the festival.
