GERMAN CURRENTS FILM FESTIVAL

Since 2007, The Goethe-Institut, the American Cinematheque, and German Films Service + Marketing GmbH have presented the annual German Currents Film Festival in Los Angeles.

From October 20-23rd, 2016, German Currents will celebrate the 10th Annual edition of this much loved showcase of recent German cinema at the historic Egyptian Theatre in Hollywood.

Beginning with an opening film and gala on the evening of Thursday, October 20, 2016, and continuing through Sunday, October 23, German Currents 2016 will feature film screenings, conversations with prolific German directors, composers, and actors, the return of the free matinee film screening for local schools and families, and other special events.

In the months leading up to this year’s festival, the Goethe-Institut Los Angeles will also present several special events; including a retrospective film series highlighting the opening night features from the past 9 editions of German Currents, a panel discussion with German composers working in Hollywood and Europe, as well as other screenings and events.
