FROM GERMANY TO LA presents an unmissable celebration of electronic sounds and visuals, delivered by a diverse lineup of DJs and performers from Germany and Los Angeles.
Friday, October 5th at
The Echo + Echoplex marks the start of the two-day festival with visual enhancement from
CLOAKING, delivering a unique LA/Berlin blend of 3D-mapping and lighting, plus projections by German artists
Lisa Wassmann and
Valquire Veljkovic, as well as a photobooth.

- 10:00 PM: Echo floor with DJ Hell, Lady Starlight live, and Alan Oldham
- 10:00 PM: - 2:00 AM: Reclaim the Beats Echoplex floor with Whitney Day, Sky Deep live, Eric D. Clark, and Tyree Cooper, lights and visuals by Cloaking
The Echo Stage offers a taste of Berlin’s techno scene with DJ sets from the iconic
DJ Hell (MUNICH/BERLIN) and
Alan Oldham (DETROIT/BERLIN), who releases on Ellen Allien’s emblematic label BPitch, plus a live modular synth performance from
Lady Starlight (NYC/BERLIN). The evening continues with a trip into house-music history – a visceral retelling of how house became a powerful force in Berlin’s musical kaleidoscope.
The Reclaim the Beats Festival stage features sets from the hugely influential house DJ and producer
Tyree Cooper (CHICAGO/BERLIN), and
Eric D. Clark (CALIFORNIA/BERLIN), the driving force behind the classic track "From Disco to Disco". The event also showcases a new live hardware set from
Sky Deep (LA/NYC/BERLIN), and LA queer-scene darling
Whitney Day. Guests can take a break from the dancefloor on a chilled outdoor patio, with carefully selected local food truck catering and a soundtrack courtesy of up-and-coming LA selector
Stacy Christine.
FROM GERMANY TO LA is part of the
Year of German-American Friendship 2018/19 – a comprehensive and collaborative initiative of the
Federal Foreign Office, the
Goethe-Institut, and with the support of the
Federation of German Industries (BDI). The two-day festival is presented in partnership with Dublab, Reclaim the Beats Festival, and Your Mom's Agency – the Berlin platform behind the pioneering FROM BERLIN TO LA events in 2016 and 2017.
