In a citywide celebration of returning to live performance, IN Series presents A Festival Through Grief to Hope: a weekend-long festival of concerts, films, and music-theater that takes the audience on a journey commemorating what we have been through, what we have lost, and what we have created, as it rings in a season of rebirth and renewal.

IN Series creates intimate and innovative theatrical programming in opera, cabaret, and song: embracing fresh approaches to the classics, blending the performing arts in unconventional ways, and showcasing Washington area artists.

With its unique approach to opera and by blending the performing arts in unconventional ways, IN Series offers artists and audiences meaningful, high-quality, intimate, affordably priced work that is thought-provoking and exciting. Artistic excellence, community service and partnerships are core components of IN Series. The company is committed to affordable ticket prices and to an accessibility that, while preserving the core vision and musical integrity of the original work, finds parallels and references that speak to us today.

The world-premiere of a new film by IN Series, combining songs of Richard Wagner with the transfiguring last act of his Tristan und Isolde, plumbs the depths of sorrow and transformation during the trials of 2020.
