GAPP, Inc. is designated by the U.S. Department of State as an authorized sponsor organization of the “Exchange Visitor Program” for secondary school students from Germany. We sponsor visas only for those students from Germany, who are visiting their GAPP partner school in the U.S.
How it works
Students from Germany, who have previously participated in a short-term GAPP exchange are eligible to apply for a semester or school-year abroad at their U.S. partner school.
- The German GAPP coordinator/partner recommends the applicant to the U.S. partner.
- The American GAPP coordinator/partner only can request the J-1 visa application package from GAPP office in New York (gapp@goethe.de). The application package includes detailed information, terms, and conditions, fees, additional costs, program activities, etc.
- GAPP charges a $900 application fee per J-1 Exchange Visitor application.
Only a certain number of applicants per school year are accepted.
Deadlines
Please note that due to the pandemic GAPP is currently not accepting applications for 2021.
