PASCH-schools have excellent German and STEM-programs. How can German teachers integrate STEM disciplines such as math, physics, biology and chemistry into their German lessons and collaborate with their colleagues? Which topics are well suited for joint projects? How does one incorporate STEM-texts into the German classroom and build discipline-specific vocabulary doing so?PASCH teachers from the United States and Canada dealt with these and other questions during a German and STEM workshop at the Goethe-Institut Washington from March 23 to March 25. Each PASCH school had sent both a German and a STEM teacher who teamed up to take a look at new approaches and best practices in the areas of German and STEM. They explored, evaluated and developed their own innovative teaching materials for topics such as sustainability, the environment and nutrition. Moreover, they discussed possibilities of feasibly organizing and implementing interdisciplinary projects in cooperation with other departments in their school. They also shared their experiences on prior work in the areas of German and STEM.
