Astrid is a comedian who makes people laugh for a living; her husband Markus is her manager and the two of them work well together. They have a nine-year-old daughter and are expecting their second child. When a 6 month check-up reveals that their unborn child has severe Down syndrome, the couple is devastated. Through the support of friends and family, they embrace their future with a differently-abled child.
However, as Astrid’s pregnancy progresses, her doctors discover that the child’s condition is worse than expected. A powerful portrait of a woman who finds herself caught up in a major moral dilemma for which there is no easy solution.
