“Thank you, Sir Simon!” - A “Late Night” with surprise guests

Among the most wonderful achievements of the Simon Rattle era with the Berliner Philharmoniker is the Late Night concert series. These intimate musical get-togethers, which are characterised by their unique atmosphere and original programming, have been presented since 2011. In this extra edition of the series, the musicians of the orchestra – supported by top-class surprise guests – take the opportunity to say thank you to Sir Simon.

Sir Simon Denis Rattle rose to international prominence during the 1980s and 1990s, while Music Director of the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra. Rattle has been principal conductor of the Berlin Philharmonic since 2002, and will leave his position at the end of his current contract, in 2018.
