OSKA Coordinator for the Region North America
- German Course and Exam Administration + Finances/Bookkeeping 


Part time position (50%) = 20 hours/week. Start date October 15, 2017; temporary position until 31 December 2018.
 
Qualified candidates may combine this position with the current job opening (50%) “Language Program Officer - Educational Liaison for German as a Foreign Language” at the Goethe-Institut Washington.
 
The Goethe-Institut is the cultural institute of the Federal Republic of Germany with a global reach. We promote knowledge of the German language abroad and foster international cultural cooperation.
The Language Department focuses on continuing education for teachers of German and student acti­vi­ties to promote German as a Foreign Language in close cooperation with our partners in the US educa­tional system. The Goethe-Institut Washington offers German language courses and exams to learners of all levels.

OSKA is the SAP-based Customer and Personnel Management System used in language course opera­tions at Goethe-Institut locations around the world. The implementation of OSKA at 9 locations in the Region North America (Canada, USA and Mexico) is overseen by a regional OSKA-Team composed of the Regional Directors of Language Programs and Administration/Finances as well as two regional OSKA Key Users tasked with technical support.  The OSKA Coordinator will oversee and coordinate the roll out of OSKA together with the OSKA Team at headquarters (Munich), the OSKA Team North Ameri­ca and the local language course operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate the OSKA Team North America in close cooperation with the Regional Directors of Language Programs and Administration/Finances (incl. weekly meetings)
  • Coordinate the OSKA-Roll Out North America with the OSKA Team at headquarters and the Soft­ware Developer Neovias (Munich)
  • Act as OSKA contact person for language course operations at Goethe-Institut locations in North America in close cooperation with the regional OSKA Key Users
  • Plan and conduct OSKA-Trainings (online/webinar and face-to-face) in North America in close cooperation with the regional OSKA Key Users and the OSKA Team at headquarters
  • Accounting, billing and reporting
Requirements:
  • Native speaker level in both German and English
  • Skilled use and experience with SAP and all common MS Office products
  • Familiar with and experience in language course operations (Goethe-Institut or similar)
  • Familiar with administrative processes
  • Highly-organized and willing to travel
