Julian flees Berlin and plans to go to southern Germany on foot. Soon he finds himself with company. The young doctor Juliane joins him, followed by frustrated housewife Ruth, and finally the trio is accompanied by policeman Jan. The road movie for pedestrians takes viewers on a journey from the northeast to the southwest of the country, through a German no man’s land. By the end of their journey, all of three travelers experience personal transformations change.
