Writing Workshop
Age: 5 – 8
Duration: 60 mins.
Presenter: Antje Damm

We look at the picture book The Visitor (Der Besuch), made of cardboard, in which shy Elise meets Emil - a curious little boy who brings color into her life. How did the book come about? How long does it take, who's working on it?

The Visitor is among the 2018 New York Times/New York Public Library Best Illustrated Children’s Books Winners.

Antje Damm, born 1965 in Wiesbaden, studied architecture in Darmstadt and Florence and worked in Berlin and Nuremberg. Since her four daughters came into the world, she has written and illustrated children's books. She lives with her family, a cat, and a turtle in an old half-timbered house near Giessen in Germany.
RSVP This event is brought to you by the 12th annual Kids Euro Festival, a two-week long festival of European arts and culture presenting free activities to D.C. metro area children from age 2 to 12. With programs both for the general public and for school groups, more than 10,000 DC-area children and their families enjoy Kids Euro Festival programs each year.

This is made possible by the 28 European Union countries and the European Union Delegation in Washington in cooperation with the European-American Cultural Foundation and The Carmel Cultural Endowment for the Arts. For the full lineup of events, please visit www.kidseurofestival.org and follow us at #KidsEUFest.
