GAPP/GAVE
Exchange topics

The GAVE program is divided into topics that all follow the same blueprint, or ‘Fahrplan,’ as we say in German. Each packet focuses on one student-centered topic. Starting with getting to know you activities and culminating in interesting exchange projects, your students will have fun while learning more about the German language and culture as they interact with their German counterparts.

Here you will find all of the resources you need to organize your exchange. In this phase you will work with your German exchange coordinator to decide on the number of students participating, choose the theme of the exchange, and have students fill out information sheets about themselves so that you can pair them with a German exchange student.

The culmination of the exchange experience involves reflecting on the program and meeting with your exchange partners as a group to present your projects. Here are the materials you and your students need to reflect on your recent German-American Virtual Exchange.

Participation certificates and feedback

Please fill out the questionnaire to submit your exchange documentation for participation certificates.

Teachers and students on both sides of the exchange are asked to fill out a short survey to help us improve GAVE.

GAPP would like to thank Christiane Bolte-Costabiei and Stefan Häring for developing materials for the GAVE project.
