PASCH Conference: 10 Years of PASCH
Date: Nov. 30, 2018 – Dec. 02, 2018
Place: Casa Universitaria del Libro
This year, the initiative “Schools Partners for the Future” (PASCH) celebrates its tenth anniversary. Founded in 2008 by current President of the Federal Republic of Germany, Frank Walter Steinmeier, PASCH has become a vivid worldwide network of more than 2000 schools with particular ties to Germany. The PASCH schools supported by the Goethe-Institut combine a German language program of excellence with a strong STEM profile sets them apart from other schools and makes them shine as “lighthouse schools” in the area of multilingualism. It is clear that the objectives of PASCH as well as the role that it plays in connecting cultures, languages, and persons – students, teachers, and communities – are just as important now as they were ten years ago. We are excited to invite all of our 35 North American PASCH schools to this ten-year anniversary conference.
The theme, in line with the occasion of this conference, invites us to reflect on the past, to examine present possibilities and to think about the excellent future of the PASCH initiative. Together, principals, German coordinators/teachers and alumni of PASCH schools from North and Central America and the Caribbean will explore opportunities for increasing the visibility of PASCH programs in school communities and in the public eye. During the conference, they will have the opportunity to share experiences, discuss new ideas and plan future collaborative projects between PASCH schools. Moreover, we hope to offer ideas and facilitate discussions concerning project design as well as share experiences gathered in previous projects with PASCH schools.
The PASCH Conference starts on Friday, 30 November 2018, at 5 pm and ends on Sunday, 02 December 2018 at noon. It will be hosted in Mexico City, Mexico.
