I was born and raised in Kiel. That is why I feel as deeply connected to the ocean as to different languages and cultures around the world. I studied in Kiel, Bowling Green, OH, and Tübingen. During my time as a Teaching Assistant (Ohio) as well as a Language Tutor (Tübingen), I discovered my passion for the German language.

Therefore, I taught German in the Summer School of Tübingen University for many years where I was also working an administrative assistant. Each year anew, I enjoyed welcoming the world to Tübingen and making unforgettable memories together.

The other months of the year, I had the opportunity to teach German for companies and research facilities, such as HP and the Max Planck Institute. I very much enjoy being a teacher; mostly because I have learned the most unexpected and surprising things from all of my classes. If time allows, I enjoy traveling the world and getting lost in stories.

After leaving Germany, I worked at the University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg, for four years. Currently, I am the Director of the TU Darmstadt North America Office in San Antonio where I also teach an (online) German course for engineering students at the University of Texas in San Antonio (UTSA).

As a coach, I am very much looking forward to peer dialogues with other German teachers in the U.S. We are often far apart but still in the same situation. Therefore, it will be enriching to exchange and discover new aspects of the classroom to make our German teaching practices even better.
