After finishing my studies of Languages and Cultural Studies in Ireland, Spain and the Netherlands, I worked as a teacher of German and English in the Netherlands. After that, I worked as a coordinator of internationalization and foreign language projects for students and teachers in the Netherlands. At times I taught teacher training courses at college. Since April 2017, I work as a language consultant at the Goethe-Institut Boston. In this position, I support schools that offer German in New England and organize student projects and seminars for teachers.
After many years of organizing professional development events for teachers of German, participation in this coaching network offers me new ways of conveying my expertise to colleagues in the teaching field in a more sustainable manner. The individual support lasting several weeks leads to more intensive contact, which can be beneficial for both the coachee and me. Coaching is not a one-way road, but rather always an interaction of two parties. I am looking forward to being inspired by the strengths of my teacher colleagues and to advising and supporting them in their professional growth.
