The Trainer Network USA supports German instructors at all educational levels and all types of schools by regularly offering teacher workshops on those aspects of teaching German that are particularly relevant in the US-context.
Network Trainers are competent and active German instructors at schools and universities, who want to pass on their expertise and knowledge to other colleagues. In order to do that, Trainers regularly take part in Goethe-Institut professional development seminars and subsequently offer their own workshops to teachers at school district level, at local AATG Chapter meetings or as part of regional and national teacher conferences.
As a German teacher, you can take part in the already scheduled workshops offered by Trainers or you can book an entire workshop for your educational institution or teacher meeting. If you are interested in becoming a Trainer yourself, you can find out about the requirements and the trainer development program that we offer in the section "Professional development for Trainers".
Trainer workshops cover eight standard themes related to methodological and curricular aspects of teaching German.
Each workshop consists of the main module and any number of additional modules, depending on the teacher group's needs and wishes.
Every year we open the network to new members and offer them a free training program. The Goethe-Institut organizes for Trainers a summer school in Germany, a weekend-long professional development seminar and numerous webinars throughout the year.
